Profile
Dr. Park is an Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Sport Science at Hanyang University-ERICA Campus. Professor Park received a B.A. (1999) in Physical Education and a M.S. (2001) in Sport and PE from Hanyang University. In 2011 Professor Park completed his PhD at the Institute of Sport and Leisure Policy, Loughborough University. Professor Park joined Hanyang University in March 2013. In relation to his teaching background, he worked at Korea Military Academy as a full-time lecturer from 2002 to 2005. He was appointed as a 3D broadcasting commentator of the London 2012 Olympic opening and closing ceremonies. He has also been served as a policy advisory member of a number of governmental agencies such as Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and so on since 2012. In addition to his work as a researcher, Professor Park has been an executive member of Korean Society of Sport Policy and also joined as a joint researcher in a various of collaborative research projects including ‘International Sporting Events Knowledge and Information Development’ led by Korea Institute of Sports Science. His research interests include a socio-cultural analysis of sport and policy, a comparative analysis of national sport policies and power relations in sport.

His research interests include the socio-cultural analysis of sport and policy, particularly in the areas of elite sport development: elite sport policy, sport for all policy and sport sub-culture.
